Is this anybody on here?
Is this anybody on here?
So I was cleaning out my hard-drive this morning, going thru all the GB's worth of downloaded car videos... and I found this mystery clip.
I must have downloaded it some time ago, coz I can't for the life of me remember where I found it. Its a 996TT and what looks like an RX-7. Both cars look very very fast, but I don't know anything else about them. The video is quite small.
Just wondering if this is anybody from 6speed?
(By the way, if the clip is copyrighted, or it is someone on here who does not want it put up on YouTube, please say so and I will take it down)

Cheers!

That Rx7 is very fast indeed.
I have been an RX fan (owned 5), but was eventualy turned off by the engines grenading all the time.
From the little knowlege I have, the Chevy transplant is actually not as heavy as one would imagine. Given the super light 2800 lb. starting point for an FD and the stellar dynamics of that car I bet it's an absolute hoot to drive. I would never attempt driving that car without a serious brake upgrade though.

A 2,700 - 2,800lbs RX-7 with 600+ rwhp is absolutely nasty fast - especialy on a roll.

Dr. Sharp,
I believe the video indicates that the Maaazda has a small block chevy
with nitrous in it. This would change the weight of the car, I believe.
It looks, sounds and delivers like a very fast car!!
VRAlex's car is somewhat of a mystery to most of us, but if you talk
to the guy that built it, he says it is capable of most of Alex's claims.
Now, having said that, and being the skeptic that I am, I would like to
see a re-run with the TT Viper (ex Gary Javos car), and see some timeslips
as I am fascinated with fantasy and even more enamored with factual
timeslips, etc.
edit: this is a different view of some previous videos, but same small block Chevy Maxda
in at least a couple of the pulls. Also, from the videos, Alex's car did not win every pull????

An RX7 with an LS1 vs one retaining the factory rotary are very similar in weight. I also must agree, even though VR's car is extremely fast, a 750WHP RX-7 would be doing mid to low 9's in street trim. Hell, an RX7 I was transporting last year was running 9.7's@143mph running out of gear, and generated 822whp on a 20b. This was a full interior street car BTW. Either way, good kill.

The other posters are correct on RX-7 times & traps (McLaren55) as well as the P car not winning every pull in the video (not that it really matters - just sayin'

All you or I need to know is if another car runs consistent 9 sec quarters or not (which is what a 3rd Gen RX-7 will do with 750 Hp - yes....at the flywheel, not rear wheels). That RX-7 did not have 750 Hp - not even close.
