Upsolute chipped x-50, comments wanted.

I'm looking to upgrade my ecu, I'm sure this has been discussed many times but the search engine won't search "x50" or "ecu" so I'm wondering if any upsolute x-50 owners can comment on their experiences. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if many X50 have it...I did but found increased lag and so went for GIAC instead...

I just got mine back from Rene and it's great. Since I have a GT2, your program would probably be pretty close to mine.

John, what kind of hp/torque increase are you getting with the Upsolute for your GT2?

wouldn't the $500 upsolute chip defeat the purpose of the x50? End result is the same HP from the upsolute - whether from a non x50 or x50.

Huh?
You're looking at the situation backwards. He already has an X50.

If he didn't already have an X50, and planned on getting the Upsolute, then yes, there would be no reason to get the X50.

Not true.... Vinnie has the x50 with the upsolute and exhaust and dynoed about 40whp more than I did. With just the ecu, he dynoed 437 at the wheels on the mustang dyno...same as my car with the ecu/exhaust.

There is definitely an x50 program out there. John Achille in Belmar, NJ has already done a number of them with no problems.

437whp is pretty impressive. Is the stock x-50 exhaust that restrictive where an aftermarket exhaust would add 40whp more?

That appears to be the case. He did before and after dynos.

I'm never smart enough to do a baseline dyno pull. There was a difference with the fvd Motronic, and a definite improvement over it with the upsolute. Better throttle response, more indicated boost (1.1 to 1.2), and more pronounced second gear wheelspin. RDH, I couldn't get to Orlando on the 6th, so no, I didn't dyno it. When there's time I'll run over there with both ecu's, but that still won't give me a GT2 baseline.
