BAD DEALER ALERT: Beverly Hills Porsche Service
BAD DEALER ALERT: Beverly Hills Porsche Service
Had the turbo towed in for a hydraulic noise.
When I picked it up I noticed an oil smell from the engine. But it was late and I decided to take the car.
I dove it 7 miles to my garage and left it there.
Today, a few weeks later, I pull the car out and notice oil under my car and that pesky oil smell. I take a look and see the rubber gasket that connects two cast pieces is not fit properly and oil is dripping out.
I decide to drive it back to Beverly Hills Porsche. The dwarf service writer lets me wait fifteen minutes while he does some paperwork which he assigned a higher priority to than a Turbo customer. Then he comes out to my car and without even looking at the leak tells me the car has an aftermarket exhaust and there is nothing he can do. Also, that the car had been towed and the damage must have happened during towing.
Great service. Makes me want to buy another $150,000 Porsche there. NOT.
Was going to buy a Cayenne Turbo for the wife for X-Mas but that is not going to happen now.
That little dwarf totally pissed me off. But hey, I gotta kiss my GT3RS goodbye now. I have the first spot. Thank god not at this lame as hell dealership.

I think they must teach that kind of behavior in the Porsche Tech school. I got the exact same attitude when I brought my ride into Champion Motorsports here in S. Fla.
This young, punk tech took one look at my car and made a blanket statement that they would warranty very little because of all my mods. Then he all but accused me of lying when I told him my car wasn't chipped (its the next thing on my to do list
).
My wife has a Cadillac CTS. We get treated like royalty when we bring the car in.
Fortunately
my warranty is over so I am free to bring it to whomever I want...and I don't want Champion. It's such short-sighted behavior on their part because when they treat customers like that they are guaranteed to lose them after the warranty and that's where the real money is!!!

The truth is that there is so much wealth in this country that dealers can afford to deal customers like crap. Some other stooge will take their place in a hurry. Dealers in the most affluent areas simply can not get enough cars to meet demand and markup cars for practically the production life of the vehicle. Their service departments are booked weeks in advance.
Beverly Hills BMW simply refuses to deal with anything more than standard maintenance. If you have a warranty issue they either refuse to deal with it, or they tell you it's not covered. They know you will go to another dealer and leave them alone to make easy money. I will never shop there again.

).I'm sure it depends on who you deal with at any given dealer, there are certainly more tards out there than professionals.
I would never go there! Sometimes it's better to drive a little further and get better service...I do all my work at Speed Gallery but regardless that's my theory.
With my Range Rover I take it to a dealer 20 miles (T.O.)from the one nearest me (Encino) just because the service there sucks and they are booked for weeks. Several things they wouldn't fix at Encino, T.O. was more than happy to do....So you can see who really wants the biz.
Sorry for the rant............

How else can they live up to their true name: $tealers. It is not a fluke. They are out to make money today. Shortsighted and arrogant behaviour. They don't care to develop customer loyalty, or even brand loyalty any more.
I wish this was only true of BH Porsche.

Whatever the reason, when dealing with customers who've paid as much as we have for our cars, there is no excuse for even one person in their department to unaware how to satisfy their clientele. I get better treatment returning a pair of headphones to Best Buy than I did at the car dealer.
I agree. Attitude is trained. From the top down.
Just look at United Airlines on one side and Frontier or JetBlue on the other. Would anyone miss United if JetBlue took over United's routes?
I don't like what that could mean for us. Is Porsche becoming United?
BMW and Mercedes are losing sales to Lexus and Infiniti. Unfortunately, there is really no subsitute for Porsche. I am hearing about possible 450HP Supra which will prod Nissan to follow suit and Infiniti to probably up the ante on the Skyline. Another HP war is a great thing... Thank Goodness. I couldn't stand seeing another SUV!
