I know some of you have aftermarket steering wheels and I was wondering which brands have had the best quality. I want something I can use my factory airbag with. I would also like something covered in suede or alcantera. Thanks in advance.

that's what she said

j/k

Yeah I wouldn't mind a steering wheel upgrade as well. I wonder if alcantara would be a bit weird on the turbo, vs how it is stock on the GT3

I had AGLA (Alan Gunn Leather Accessories) re-do mine thicker and I think it turned out great. Regular black leather with perforated leather at the right and left. Price was a few hundred or so if I remember correctly.

Just getting ready to mount the 997 GT3 steering wheel in my car. It's not a particularly thick wheel, but the Alcantara feels great.

I ordered a wheel from AGLA a few months ago. It took him over a month to get me a 5 day job. Excuses here and there...seamstress this... assembly line that...

When I received the wheel...I was extremely disappointed....the damn airbag won't fit! He insisted to warranty the work.

After all that hoopla, I decided to return the wheel (by that, I mean ... to dispute the charge through AMEX... and he didnt even give me full credit...AMEX had to credit me the other part ) and go with the FVD CF Daytona 340mm ... with the special "emboss" on the airbag Love it ... and definately thicker than what AGLA did...not to mention the quality is much better ... by a thousand fold...

I'll try and post pictures when its installed...just got it two days ago...hopefully Rhonda @ FVD wont shoot me when I post the picture of the "embossed" airbag... or maybe I'll just photoshop it out...lol

Would've gotten it in less than a week. But I had a special emboss on my leather airbag (among all things) done to it. Rhonda @ FVD promised me 4 weeks, but they received it from Germany and had it shipped to me approx 12/15. I picked regular Ground shipping and got it 12/20 or so.

Well I dunno what everybody else's experiences are with FVD. But the person I dealt with was Rhonda Roxburgh (Rhonda@fvd.us / 1-800-274-2220 x14). Tell her that she can have your firstborn...worked for me...lol.hahaha jk
