XCZ short shifter question

I saw yesterday an '04 TT car which is claimed to have the XCZ sport shifter option. The box does have a shorter throw, but to my surprise, the stick itself is bog standard, instead of the chunkier and nicer lever I've seen on all other XCZ equiped car. Dealer says that the chunky lever is another option, and that the factory delivered XCZ has a standard lever. True ?

Can someone help me out ? There are many cars out there with the XCZ sport shifter option, but I've only seen them with the larger stick, so what exactly does the XCZ option consist of ?
