Pretty new to the board but I spent a lot of time tracking pricing before I pulled the trigger on my 03 turbo last month - compared to Ricky I way overpaid! mine has 9k miles, CPO and got it for $82.5...realistically I would be guessing you need to be in the mid 60s best case for that kinda mileage. Probably not what your buddy wants to hear...

I am looking at a '03 x50 with half the miles for $82, so high 60's to $70 is probably close. I have passed on a few '03s with 20k or less at $70 to $75, but they sold for that. There are many out there higher that aren't selling unless they are at a P-car dealer. I think the tip, 30K miles and chrome wheels hurt the marketability.

Rick got an excellent deal on his car.

I picked up my 02 w/X50 and tip 7,911 miles with Porsche Certified Warranty for 73,000.00 in Back in July. I would guess an asking price of around 65-70 K. I am new to P cars so someone should be better at estimating than me. Also my car came from a P dealer lot in NC. Good luck to your friend.

The car has been driven, which is OK, but most buyers now seem pretty picky due to good number of cars out there. The tip certainly hurts more than anything else but it might work out when the buyer is only looking for a tip. That might take some time so he either drops it down to 65 and it might move (price won't convince a 6-speed seeker to buy a tip) or just sit at 70+ and wait for the right buyer

Does anyone have access on recent auction prices on TT's ? I assume that wholesale is a good place to start from, knowing that an independent dealer will take a reasonable margin on top.

I would be more than happy to get you guys auction prices. Unfortunately the last time I did ALOT of knuckleheads on this board got their panties in a bunch and said I don't know what I was talking about. Then gave me negative reputation feedback.

I can tell you this I just bought a 03 996TT tip with a msrp of $129K with 24K for $69,000. That car went through the auction for $63K.

I hope this helps.

Data is data, as long as the source is known/disclosed, I am not too sure what kind of argument it can prompt ?
What is or is not an independent or dealer mark-up on top of wholesale is another story.
Would very much appreciate a peek on your data via pm. Thanks.

I gave data right off the manhiem report from all auctions across the USA. Do a search and you will see how many A>>HOLES are on this board. I was trying to help others who were going to buy a car just to give them some ammo to nego. with the dealer.

Did some search and found two threads with auction prices in the past months. Not sure what monthly fluctuations can be expected though:

70k sounds like a great deal to me on what seems to be a very clean car - GL on the sale!
