Installed C4S front lip.

Before you guys start to flame, my old lip was cracking and was not practical in the NYC area (with all the weird driveway angles, etc). So I decided to get a C4S lip and paint it, a very cheap mod, the lip was $140 plus painting.

Old lip:

The third pic is a red "x". I like the C4S lip, but do you have any idea how it effects the aerodynamic balance of the car?

Image station has been temperamental today (try refresh button a few times), pic is working on and off, I did not do any wind tunnel testing but it is a perfect fit, I don't think it makes much of a difference (I could be wrong).

Rave,

LOL! I didn't expect you to have carried out wind tunnel tests yourself.

I only ask because, as you know, the C4S does not have the same rear wing as the Turbo. I do not know the answer, but I believe combining the two would effect the balance between the front & the rear of the car. Perhaps the effect is negligible, perhaps not. I don't know. I guess it's just something to think about if you're planning any high speed runs.

I'm not having any luck w/the third pic still.

If he keeps it under 160 I don't think he will have a problem.

Rave,
cant see you pics but I did the same thing because I was always scraping the turbo lip on my driveway. Painted C4S lip on my turbo. I got some neg comments but personally I like the look. After all, we know are cars are turbos so the neg comments dont bother me too much.

It was a cheap fix, we can always get a full TechArt front if we ever get sick of being conservative.
Stupid image station pics have been acting up all day.

Rave I like it alot - one thing and dont hate me for nit picking but I am very ****

The paint doesnt appear to match 100% - it could be beacuse the lip is a diff material then the bumper - who did the work ?

Must be the camera or lighting, Small Cars in Flushing did the work, they are one of the best body shops in America, in person the match is perfect.

I can't see the picture but it is something i have been thinking of for a while. First I'll see what raising the car does for me.

I've been using the C4S lip on my car for a while now. At any legal speed up to over 100 MPH I haven't noticed a difference. It certainly does help the drive clearance issue, but it STILL scrapes. It is also around $100 cheaper than the Turbo Lip (as I recall) so after having been through 3 on my '01 I like that part. Also I have a Turbo Lip that I can put on for appearances. It goes on and off very easily.

Thumbs up

I like the C4S lip more than the stock one. I changed mine a week after I picked up my car. I think any aerodynamic issues would only occur at very high speeds if at all and living in NY that isn't an issue.

Unhappy Photo Problems

I'm obviously having a problem posting a photo. How do you post photo's like the large ones above without using a link to a photo hosting service. The limit of 5000K is extremely small.

lol bruce...the only way to post a larger photo is to have it hosted on another site and inserting the link in your post.

As for the C4s lip, I think it looks great. Adds more shape and clearance to the font...nice!
