holy road noise batman!

been driving the 911 for about a week now and holy cow is there alot of road noise. Cruising at 70 MPH i can barely carry on a phone conversation...this thing makes my 355 sound quiet! is it just my car or is this typical? Car seems to be louder inside and it is from the outside.

Are your tires in good condition, are they cupped? Tire noise is going to be evident but the way you describe it it sounds horrible.
Maybe time for replacements?

When I first got my Turbo, it had the OEM Pirellis, and they were noisy as hell. So I replaced them with PS2's and they are a lot more quiet.

It's the Pirelli's for sure, they are horrible, had the exact same issue when I got my car (OEM factory tire), switched to the MPS2's, they are so much quieter, I am very happy with them..don't last long though

Maybe you need a loud exhaust to muffle the road noise

I had the same problem with OEM PZeros, they were absurdly noisy. S02As are a good N-rated tire in my experience. The Contis suck.

BTDT, look at your wheel bearings. They are weak and will rumble so bad when you are crusing on the HWY you swear the car is going to come apart.

Ricky,
Baring anything mechanical, it's probably your P-Zero's. Experienced the same excessive noise. Have PS2's now wh are better. Funny tho, that I didn't notice it as much on a 355 and 360 Spiders I'd owned and driven for over a year, which were both shod with P-zeros. For the 355 at least, I think that the splendid exhaust always drowned everything else out.
