It is standard but can be deleted if you order a new car.

I think you'll find it's a standard option you can delete.

Not certain why you are asking, but if you are considering this and want to delete for the additional stability of a solid roof, I have heard it argued that the delete option provides very little improvement (reduced body flex), would be noticable only on the track, and would therefore make more sense to get a track car. The modest improvement needs to be weighed against the hit you'd take in re-sale value. The sunroof is very popular, and the delete option would appeal only to someone who wanted to seriously track the car but didn't want a track car. By "track car" I think what was meant was a car that was too highly modified to be of practical use on public roads.

An un-argued positive aspect of the delete option is that it provides a little additional headroom.

It also removes a bunch of weight from high up (lower center of gravity) and eliminates another spot that is a common source of rattles. To the right buyer, a sunroof delete car can be worth more.

It comes standard, the option is to delete it.

My suggestion is get a car optioned the way you want it, and don't worry about resale. You're buying for your enjoyment, not someone elses.

I deleted the sunroof for the following reasons:

*More headroom.
*Looks.
*No chance of rattles or noises.
*Functionality. The opening is too far behind my head to provide anything more than extra light and wind noise, and coming from a convertible the sunroof was just a tease to me.

The headroom issue alone was the only reason I really needed though.

Sunroof delete on Polar Silver.

Thanks guys. As far as I'm concerned there are 2 certainties about sunroofs:

1. I never use them
2. They always rattle.

I'm another person who ordered the sunroof delete option for all the reasons Dock mentioned -- had no problem on resale.

996 sunroof is the worst

I wish I deleted this option. The sunroof cables have come loose way to many times. I think they need to work on this for the 997

I wish I did so my helmet didn't rub the ceiling of my car when at the track. I do like it on the street however.

I deleted the sunroof so I wouldn't bang my head on the damn sunroof frame box (feel around in the headliner!) when I drove over bumpy roads. Here it is (squint a little to see no sunroof):
