Newbie question about RUF
Newbie question about RUF
This is probably a dumb question, but here goes:
Is a RUF still a Porsche? Some fellow associates and I were admiring the new RUF RGT delivered here in Dallas. I made the comment that I love this Porsche. Another replied that is not a Porsche because its build a RUF with its own VIN#.
I disagreed, am I wrong?
I don't a RUF topic on this forum, so please forgive the newbie if this thread is in the wrong place.
Thanks

Ruf is recognised by the German government as a car manufacturer (has the same status as VW, Porsche, BMW etc)
Ruf cars have a "WO" vin number, wheras Porsches have a "WP" number,

Some RUF's are conversions though and are still a Porsche. Like mine for example was converted to a RTurbo 550. It does not have a RUF Vin and therefore still a Porsche. The RGT you are speaking of is certainly a true RUF though.
Well guess I'll have to admit being wrong on this one. I was pretty confident I was right, being that in our previous discussion he stated that the 911 is a mid-engine car.
He would not give in that it is a rear engine car.
Oh well.
