WOW! That's an unbelievable deal!

''HOWEVER, this car was involved in a minor front-end accident resulting in an airbag deployment. All repair work was performed by Plaza Motor Company in St. Louis, the area’s largest Porsche dealer.''

Ahhhh, there it is! I was looking for it (not too hard I admit). :D

looks great in pictures but I doubt the buyer got a deal, even with the lower miles.

YNOTFAST Feb 7, 2007 08:46 AM

CarreraMark;
Why don't you think this was a deal? A genuine 996TT with under 30,000 miles for under $50k sounds like a winner to me. Is your issue the minor front end damage? Looks good in the pix. PS I did not bid on or buy it, just curious about your thinking.

maxwell Feb 7, 2007 09:35 AM

just because the auction ended, doesn't mean someone got a deal. If the item doesn't get bid up enough, a lot of times people will just bid on it themselves, so it doesn't go too cheap.

TT Surgeon Feb 7, 2007 09:43 AM

I think that's still a good deal.

GrettW Feb 7, 2007 02:46 PM

I would never buy a car that had been hit from the front...In ads everyone always says "minor" front end damage, when in reality you dont know and may never know the extent of damage/repair the car underwent...

I posted the same ebay auction in this thread last night, the BUY IT NOW price is set to $49900, someone used the BIN price. The auction just listed yesterday evening.

When something looks too good to be true, it usually is. That's the saying I believe. Looks great in photos, but I bet that Minor front damage was more than minor. I'd rather cough up another $10K or so and get a piece of mind with my purchase.

20C4S Feb 7, 2007 03:13 PM

minor damage will not pop the airbag, but some people will think it's minor if it's fixable.
