only 2 of these in the world (x50) $120,000
Old thread, but...
Seems like it sold at auction last week:
http://www.carfax.com/cfm/ccc_Displa...AB29903S686013
Sat at Larson for almost a FULL YEAR.
Someone else is trying to sell it for too much, now no CPO:

Anyone know what they paid at auction on 8/14??
Amazing....

They told me the part was special order and had to be obtained directly from German Factory. Such bull****. unfortunately, i was a 6speed newbie at that time.
Think I Know What They Are Trying to Say
I am a new comer to the list and am in the market to buy either a 2002 or 2003 996TT. I am trying to learn as much as possible before making the buy. (I also am trying to sell my current car first.
) I have a preference for the Seal Gray color and the X50 package.
I have come across (2) 2003 Seal Gray X50's and both of them have the Yellow Ceramic Brake option, and both are in the state of Washington. One has 37,500 miles and the one discussed here has 8,100 miles. The high mileage one has a starting Ebay bid of $70,000 and the low mileage one has a ridiculous listed price of $95,000.
These are the only 2 X50's I have come across that are optioned exactly the same way. What are the odds they are both in Washington?

Gig Harbor Motor Sports has it now, asking 94. Think they'll take 72?
The one with 37,500 miles is at Park Place Ltd. and is listed on their site for $79K. It is a manual tranny, as opposed to the triptronic on the other. I am thinking that $70K would be a good price for this?
Any opinons on the ceramic brake option?

I was concerend with the cost to replace the brakes- Monte with ParkPlace claimed that their mechanic said they had "80% of their life left" on a car with 37k that's impressive.
IMHO 70k is on the high end with the miles, especially since they are not a P dealer and there is no warranty. I am pretty sure they will sell it for less than 70.
Good luck

I have to second that one! I broke the shifter linkage the third day after I bought my turbo. It was towed to this particular dealer. they had my car for several weeks, telling me that the part that broke was a "special" linkage part that could only be obtained from Germany. They also told me "Germany" was back ordered and it might take over a month to get the part. I freaked out and called another dealer who promptly sent over the $5 linkage to fix it. dumb asses!
