Racing Cameras to Capture Your A$$ Whooping

After I posted the video with the 996TT vs Ferrari 360 I have gotten alot of PM's on the Racing Video Cameras I used.

So...

The cameras are external cigar cameras. Sony wide angle. They include mics, power adapters, and everything you need. You can mount them on the body, the windows, outside or inside. They have rubber suction mount which will not fall off or scratch anything. Great for the road racers and draggers. For those that like to whip *** on the street, perfect. They work in low light or dark too.

Here are some examples I have used them in -

Very cool. What do you use to record the video? Can you record from multiple cameras at the same time?

You use any camcorder or DVR that has an AV Input. I guess you could setup multiple recorders. If you want one PM me..about $3ish

The kit I use has a PIP (picture-in-picture) processor, and allows you to connect multiple sony cigar cameras; the PIP connects to the camcorder and the video is recorded with picture in picture.

Vivid Racing sells Hoyttech products and I'm sure Dan can get you a good deal on the camera system. Here's a direct link to Vivid Racing:

I've got a seven camera rig on my car recording to four devices (switchable in cabin). It makes for a lot of fun in the post production phase!

Picture looks great, might have to check those out for our applications.

Any recommended DVRs with AV input? I heard about the Archus, but the ones I have checked do not have AV input except on the docking station...

Any tips? I just think that the camcorder (which is what I am using currently) will get damaged with all the vibration in the car, it is starting to act funny. I have the Hoyttech setup as well with a couple of extra bullet cams and a splitter etc.. The portable batteries are an excellent option BTW.

Just get yourself like a $300 Canon Camcorder. Dual purpose and does the job! I leave my on the floor behind the passenger seat. No issues!
