Is B&M shifter really notchy?

I had a B&M on my RX7 and no matter how I tried to adjust it, it was really "notchy" feeling and was difficult to quickly shift from 1st to 2nd. How is the B&M on the 996 TT? Is the shift throw reduction too much resulting in this type of thing, or does it shift nice and smooth if you have it adjusted correctly?

It is notchy but not horrible...Now that I am used to it I can't imagine going back! If I had to comprise a list of only 10 upgrades I could do. It is definatley on the top of the list.

Worth every penny...I think you will get the same respect for this product from just about everyone here...

It's notchy, but some like/love it. My preference is for the TA or Ruf adjustable short shift kit which attaches at the tranny. I believe B&M now makes a Ruf/TA style kit also.

It is much notchier and I have also moticed it can be difficult to shift into 3rd gear on occassion, but overall it is much nicer.

Who sells the ones that attach at the tranny? Do they work differently and thus give a different feel?

Yeah that's sort of how my RX7 was ... but it was the 1-2 shift that was sometimes hard to do even remotely quickly. Hmm, anyone have the evo one that only reduces throw 20%? I wonder how that one compares...

Sounds good, thanks to all. I'll give the B&M a try...
