When are you *really* overdriving the tires?
Since the spectrum of sound: singing -> howling -> screaming
is so linear, it's hard to judge where you are on the scale, and
the same goes for the breakaway characteristics, something
like: sitck -> slide -> push. But because of this tone differential
I knew when my line deviated just a fraction - the goal - a nice
even fade in, steady screach, even fade out. Very satisfying
when done right.

Streets also have much better breakaway characteristics. With any R-compound and Cups, esp. if they're not absolutely hot, they just snap when they give way.

Please - I know - I didn't listen either - I wanted GRIP, STICK, G's - but ended up going back to street tires for a season, and I learned tons...

Your instructor will also thank you..
Very well put and very true, +1 to you!!

YMMV
I have had the same thing and now every four track days I flip them side to side.

Thank you everyone!!
Sounds like a good plan
