996 TT Wing Attachment....HELP!

I'm getting conflicting reports. My wife got me a GT2 style wing for Valentines Day (Pretty cool, huh?) that allegedly, according the the seller "SO NO MORE MODIFICATION REQUIRED,NO FIBER GLASSING, NO DRILLING AND ANYTHING ELSE".
I removed the stock wing, no problem, but the new wing does not have the metal attachments to mate with the posts. The seller says the metal insert on the stock wing will unscrew and then mates with the new wing to hold it on. My dealer and a local Porsche shop says the metal bracket on the stock wing does NOT unscrew.

Has anybody done this?? Will the metal socket unscrew from the stock wing?

The replacement wing blade I got came with metal inserts (for lack of a better word) inside the uppers of the new wing. When I took off the original stock blade, it looked exactly the same as the replacement GT2 blade. Did you get a wing blade to fit on a GT2 deck and not a 996TT????

The metal inserts in your stock wing will unscrew. you may want to use some WD40. I believe you need a 14mm allen wrench, not sure about the size.

doccao will become famous soon enough
Stock metal housing WILL unscrew, but it will be a *****! Too much torque and you will break the fiberglass wing (so be careful).

Thanks for the input. I tried to loosen them and they didn't budge and I didn't want to break anything. Since they come out, maybe I can get new inserts then I could leave the stock wing "as is". The dealer didn't show the part unscrewing so I don't think they can get the part. Anybody got these inserts or know where I can get them??

plessdude is on a distinguished road
I tried to get just the inserts from the dealer and they told me i had to order the whole wing. I ended up buying the 14mm allen key from an online hardware place and used a lot of wd40 and tried to go slow. Eventually they came out and didn't break the original wing.
