Plastic Twin AirBox Inlet

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...hlight=sportec

Can somebody please make a plastic version of this at a reasonable price, it doesn't need to be carbon as its in the engine bay and I'm sure that you could even just make the half with two inlets to fit to the OEM air filter holder and MAF

fwiw just put back in my cut off "hot air" version after a month as had to buy a new OEM version for a control test here. Even with both having the BMC air filter, the cut off version is a consistent +0.1 difference to boost

I don't believe you can find a willing owner of the Sportec airbox to go somewhere and do a plastic copy of it

Thanks for the info, the cut off version of the original air box seems to be okay! What about the sounds? Any pics too? Same as the 9ff?

But of course have to doubt does it go too hot in the engine bay....

(I'm driving a ~550hp Turbo and when I changed to V-Flow (dry filter) it started to blow mafs....damn it...wouldn't want to go back to original)

btw. You have a 996TT with some rare color and also a 360 Challenge Stradale if I remember right? Give us some pics!! (this forum is all about nice pics.... )

But a manufacturer could buy a Sportec unit and make a mold from it to make some low price knock offs and then sell the CF 1 to me for cheap!

hacking the holes is the easy part. fabricating and making the plastic mould for the intake holes that would mount to the underside of the deck lid is where all the time is. someone should design and fab one they would make some doe.

All you need to do is get another right side scoop and fab up mounting points for the decklid. Shouldn't be too tough. Only problem is that Porsche Europe is completely out of stock. Time to go to the junkyard...

it would be ideal to have a mirrored scoop for the opposing side. jimmer23 have you done this mod? do you have pics? not sure if it will work.

Naw, I've been trying to source a spare scoop. Apparently OPC is out of stock in all of Europe. Probably not a part that gets ordered very often. When I have time I'll have to figure out how the junkyard system works over here and get one that way.
