I doubt it will be a problem if the tires are touching the liners only on full lock. There is virtually no driving situation where you will be at full lock under load.

Are you sure you don't have spacers? If you do, removing them might help.

I'm no suspension expert, but wouldn't changing the caster (not camber) move the wheels back a a few mm and avoid this situation?

Finally, maybe a very small lift of 1/4" is all you need? It won't affect the look much.

Just thinking of every possible scenario to help you out. You car looks SICK. TTs look best in RED, YELLOW and SILVER IMO.

i had the same issue on my E30 M3 when fitting 17's - with an ET20 the wheels rubbed like this - moving to the correct offset, a 13 pulled the wheels in slightly and rectified the issue. It's tricky when the tolerances between arch and wheel are so small....

good luck - car looks great

thanks for all the suggestions guys, i appreciate it. I'm sure it won't take much to correct the problem. My wheel and tire sizes are very common according to everyone on the board. I didn't have a pro install them, i just slapped them on. Fortunately, the weather just sucks here and i'm not driving her this week anyway. I'm starting to jones a little

Well be never established the wheel size (offset) and we are assuming the 8.5J info is correct.......good luck just the same........let us know the fix if you could.

I find it strange that nobody here actually gave specicifications for the correct offset for an 8.5 x 19 front (or maybe we should say max offset). You guys sell these all the time right?

The reason you are rubbing is the offset is too aggressive (aka its a low #), is there a tag on the inside of your hre wheels that gives the height and width as well as the offset (I cant recall if my hre wheels do or not). There are a few things you can do...1) raise the car up some this generally will cause the rubbing to decrease or even stop it all together 2) If you bought the rims directly from HRE recently call and explain to them that even though the width of the wheel is perfectly suitable for the car, the offset they sent is too low aka aggressive. I highly doubt your car was involved in an accident, this may not be a common problem for most owners on this site, but I assure you what you are experiencing happens all the time and it has happened to me in the past. If you get an alignment which you may or may not need depending on if you got one after you lowered the car, this will correct whatever negative camber and toe issues you have but it most likely will cause the tire to rub more. I think the best solution is to just raise the car up some...I know that aesthetically this may not be the most pleasing solution but if you want the rubbing to cease I feel it is your best bet. And if you ever purchase wheels again make sure you pay attention to offset it is just as if not more important that height/width

WillcoxMD Specs: The front wheel dimensions are:
19 x 8.5 with 34mm offset. tires are 19 x 235 x 35 and he is Rubbing the inside fender liner.

Not really a question of "correct' or not......as 19s are not OE.....Its a matter of taste, what works for you with your suspension.
Anyway, on my earlier post I mentioned that some might add as much as 14mm spacers on OE 8" hollows(which have 50mm front offsets)....the result is a 36mm offset.
to get same 'look' from an 8.5J rim it would have approximately a 42mm offset (which is out there pretty good)........if you are saying 34mm (ie another 8mm) I would say that's way too far out....in other words, the wrong wheels.
Here's a pic of 19" 8.5Js with that 42mm offset (on a very low suspension, 235/35 Ps2s).........as I said, 34mm would be out another 8mm.

So let's re-phrase that. What's the MAX offset that will work with a factory alignment? Off the shelf car?

Gregg T: what are your rear offsets? did you have to roll the fenders? I have the following offsets and want totry and get a more aggresive look. I'm willing to roll the fenders.

19x8 46mm Front 235 tire
19x11.5 44mm Rear 315 tire

Offset is not a function of alignment.......are we still talking about the original problem here ......again, that problem is a combo of 1.) low ride 2.) low offset........'off the shelf' OE height is almost 3" higher than the car in my post. Raise it to that off-the-shelf height & I guarantee it won't rub.........it will look like off-road crap but won't rub.
Personally I'd get rid of the wheels.....offset is 6-15mm too low (if that 34mm number is correct).....but yes, if you raise the car up enough it won't rub. Last advice is....correct the offset....maybe the problem will be gone....if not, raise it 1/4....my money says the car will still look fantastic.....and work.

Hey guys,
It appears there are a couple threads going now about my wheels. I appreciate all the input. Everyone was correct. my offsets were very aggressive. I have sent the wheels back and ordered a brand new set of HREs with more appropriate HRE recommended offsets! I'll post some pics when I get them.
