RPM Question

What is the consensus on the max RPM a stock TT motor can safely achieve? My particular car is a Stage 3 X50. I have heard 7000-7400?

My car with GIAC seems to have a factory rev limit. Is there an optional 7000 RPM flash with GIAC?

Will different cams help? It seems some people (with proper heads of course) are running as hisgh as 8200? (Markski).

I'm been missing my M3's sky high rev limit and am convinced that a higher REV limit will increase the fun quotient.

While we're at it, will K24s and stock fuel system still be able to handle these rev limits with no mods?

O-Ace is infamous around these parts
The rev limiter on my X50 with the Protomotive kit is being set to 7500 RPM. That number was recommended as being a safe limit by Sol @ Perfect Power and Todd @ Protomotive agreed. I don't plan on actually revving it that high all the time, but it's nice to be able to rev it to 7,500 if needed

Only if your particular turbos continue to make power above the OEM rev limiter. If your turbos begin to fall off above 7000 rpms, increasing your rev limiter may be counter-productive and may cause a decrease in performance.

According to Sol, the K24/18G hybrids should continue to make power up top.

Stock motors have too small rod bolts and weak valve springs for 7500.
