DPE wheels

Getting ready to purchase some wheels and I'm leaning toward DPE's. I've heard good things about them from the Audi/BMW guys. Was wondering if any 996TT owners have had experience with them on their cars. I plan on running 19x8.5 up front and 19x11.5 rear with 235/35 and 315/25. Thoughts/opinion on DPE's? Thanks.

DPE's are sick wheels and im sure they got their widebody Porsche fitment down pat. John From Jersey (John) and Kerry's old Turbo sported a set of DPE's years ago, i loved them but the rear offset was off a bit!

Nice wheels. A friend of mine has a similar design from DPE and they look great. He's never had a problem with them that I know of.

Sick wheels, Great company, great products! What finish are you planning on going with?

I say go gold if your car is black or red.

I'm not sure....I have a black car but i'm torn between brushed aluminum or platinum graphite (first pic I posted). Here is the closest match in color/wheel combo.......I know they are HRE's but you get the idea. I dont know who's GT2 this is but its sick!

That is GMG Racing's garage, that GT2 has always been one of my favorites, its menacing looking! Go with the Graphite on Black, amazing combo

Now I talked with a vendor and he said most guys with DPE's were running chrome lip wheels. He says the finish is not mirror like; a little more subdued. I was thinking chrome was heavier and chip easier. Any thoughts on chrome lips?

From my (limited) understanding, polished lips are easier to repair, whereas chrome lips must be re-chromed for repair. Can anyone else with experience speak to this?

I don't know for sure if chrome is heavier or not, but logically that would follow...

Chrome lips is what i run on all my cars! As long as you stay off the curb you'll be fine. The reason i like chrome is because you dont have to polish it out. As far as weight, its simpily another finish just like the finish on the center of your wheel, it doesn't add any substantial weight.

Although polished is easier to repair, it will oxidize and turn yellow over time if not maintained (i.e. polished every weekend).

Oh and that porsche is running gunmetal wheels, liquid cinder will match up with that better. Platinum graphite is more flat of a finish, my buddy has it on his 7-ser

I was just at DPE yesterday. The brushed aluminum is really nice.

You dont have to polish anywhere near every weekend and if you take good care of your wheels all you need is a powerball and some aluminum polish (mothers etc.) and most people cant tell the difference between chrome and a well polished wheel. Polished is better, more work but CHROME WILL PEEL! It will happen eventually, if you like detailing your car, get polished, if you dont and dont mind paying about 800 to rechrome in two years then go chrome.
