If someone has the same year TT as me but has a stage 1 program on it would it just be a direct swap (both 6speeds)? Were their different ECU's made in the same MY or should it be fine?

 

ECUs are coded for each car. You would have to get the new ECU "re-programmed" by someone with a PST2 or PIWIS (like a dealer).

 

It get seven worse... most tuners have the software encrypted so u cannot swap ecus and or programs.

Thats true, software encrypted its possible to fix in 2min....anyway if you dont know how you can just change the little chip for IMO and chassi nr and it will work if the boxes are the same.

I am not telling you to do that, only that its possible..

Here in the the US its almost impossible to do... no one will do it for us... I lost 2 different tuning ecus due to that....

 

I know, no one will or can do it here either...Just one person i know can do it. Change IMO/Cassi nr chip, its much easyer then to change it in the prog. I have seen when a tuner helped one with Techart ECU from another car to install it in a friends car, then he just changed the IMO/Chassi chip and he didnt touch the Techart chip that is under the protection chip. Techart has protection B over their chip, maybe B is their symbol I dont know. You have to know what you are doing...

so no one can just buy some one elses modified ecu and plug it in? These seems strange..
