CDR 220 wanted.

Is anyone considering replacing their audio system in their '02 (I'm not sure if '03 and greater will work for me)? Or have you already?

I am looking for a head unit that has the CD built in dash as opposed to the stupid tape deck mine has.

I will buy from whomever is selling one or has one they need to get rid of.

I currently have an '02 bose system and need one that will just swap with my current head unit that has the tape deck.

Yeah, but that's quite a bit to pay for a marginal system. Thanks for the thought though. I figure a used one would be 25% of that.

$499 will get you the Becker Traffic Pro, with both CD and NAV functionality. Simple plug and play.

Problem with HK TrafficPro is that it does not have the anti-theft coding system of the Porsche version.

OEM is much more expensive but at least you get warranty peace of mind with it as well as factory integration.

Does that unit also allow me to hook up an AUX input for MP3 player, etc?

Do you have the Bose or Becker? I don't think the Becker CDR220 will work with a Bose system.
I've seen the 220 on ebay several times.

This is what I got to figure out. I have an '02 w/ bose, but I thought the head unit was still Becker. Is that wrong?

I believe the Bose systems still use the Becker headunits unless you have PCM.

FYI, Becker is now a subsidiary of Harman International, which is why they market Traffic Pro under the Harman/Kardon brand.

I would say E-bay too. I have seen them go anywhere from 75-200 on Evil Bay.

What does this mean exactly?

Sandoval---i think it means that there is no "code" that needs to be entered if the radio is attached for the first time. "like you have to set an alarm clock after u unplug the clock"

WOw. i remember the traffic pro used to be $1300. wow....

I have the HK version of Traffic Pro, You do need a code to get the unit to function just like the Becker. The code comes on a card just like the Becker. It also has the center red blinking light when you enable the alarm via your key fob.

SANDOVAL that is good to know. I stand corrected.

So are there any other differences between the HK and OEM trafficpro?
