I don't think Don drove through water...as far as the tuning on that car...it was a joint venture between Protomotive and Company X...I held them both accountable...Protomotive made good and Company X did'nt, hence Company X is out of business...Protomotive (on their dime) made good, even though as I found out much later that they where not to blame (very long story...in a nutshell, when I tore the engine apart, Company X had swapped it with another motor...In other words, the internals where NOT what I was invoiced for and was not what Protomotive tuned)...that is one of the main reasons why I went back to Protomotive when it came to my 2001 turbo (3+ years ago)and Promoted them here on 6speedonline when not that many people where taking their cars to them...I knew what they had built with my car and I wanted to share Protomotive's approach with everyone here...I remember talking to Mark when he had 20 questions about Todd before he sent his turbo to him for the GT3 treatment...and look at where it is today...

At our levels of HP anything can happen... Period.
One just has to be diligent and respect the car... (watch ur boost and AFRs... change plugs and oil,etc....)
I also have an Evo 8 fully built that thru a head gasket the next day after tuning due to bad C16(detonation)... who ever knew... things just do happen at this stage of power.

that is very bad.... good thing company x got what they deserved!

I do not know Don, said hi in passing but that is about it.. all i can tell you is when you talk about trying to blow your car up in public.. like i heard him say the day before it blew... its hard to see how a tuner can be blamed for that... Again i do not know Don, and i do not wish him bad .. and i hope his new endeavor into the viper will satsify his need for speed.. obviously the pcar is not his kinda of car..

Craig...call me when you have a minute...

well hell I wasn't aware Garth even had his car for sale.

Hate to break it to ya, but you will never plant that power on street tires with a T-56. It wouldn't hook till 5th gear, and then you would likely destroy the tranny. Oh and 37psi on VP-Import, good luck with that

I'm all about stupid street cars, but when 1200rwhp will burn 345 drag radials at 150, 1700rwhp is just asking to die.

Turn it down to a somewhat "reasonable" (as reasonable as 1200rw can be) level and I'm sure it will be a blast. Just watch that 5th gear as they are notoriously weak. Roll into it nice and easy, and hang the FAWK on.

hehe, Kevin wanted me to drive that car in a standing mile race ... don't think Garth was up for seeing his car go 240 though.
