Changed my Flywheel/Clutch but.....

.....I did not know it was going to make that much noise. It sounds bad at idle without the clutch pressed. I was told that was normal. Is it???????

Yes sir. The dual mass is there to absorb the vibration and the shaft chatter. They have been doing this since 1978. The rubber center clutches eventually ended up as part of the flywheel to strengthen the disc that were loosing centers. When the mass is removed and goes to a single setup and no rubber is in place, hence lighter as well the noise is audible. HP is not cheap. It is all about giving and taking. Certainly normal though.

that's why as you are decelerating, you should give the engine a few revs while the clutch pedal is depressed or while in neutral to prevent the engine from stalling. I had to do this in the ex turbo when we installed a Porsche Motorsports GT2 race clutch with lightened single mass flywheel, etc.
