DSG Transmission
DSG Transmission
I hear that this transmission or a variant may be an option on the 997.....if so kudos to Porsche for waiting on such great technology before implementing....drove it yesterday and I think its far better than the Ferrari F1 and BMW SMGII gearboxes...if you have a chance go and drive the new Audi TT....I read that 2 gear downshifts were slow but I had no problems, the auto mode was smoother than any auto I've ever driven and the manual shifts faster than the BMW SMG in the M3.
1st 3rd and 5th are on one shaft and 2ns 4th and 6th are on the other, each with there own clutch, but to get it so smooth they need to slip both clutchs so i heard it wont last that long

The True DSG is used in the Bugatti Veyron. It is the only transmission that can handle that car.
