Driving skill aside, looks like you have the edge (I'm assuming you have somewhere in the neighborhood of 500rwhp with the blower), just make sure there aren't any turns and you can probably beat him.
I agree, I would figure that I'd prob have an advantage over a rwd porshe from a dead stop (driver independent, of course).

From a roll the centifical blowers do pretty well also. They really love to rev. The magnusum blowers for the vettes that are "roots" style tend to make the power earlier and peak faster.

IMO, twin turbo would have been the best way to go, but I unfortunately to not have the funds for that.

Handling is another matter. My car is not setup like a Z06 although I could be if I through a few thousand at it. There's no reason why it couldn't handle the same/better than a factory Z06.

Unfortunately, the only "local" tracks are 1/4 mile tracks that are over an hour 30 minutes away.

LS1/6's really like FI, although I guess what engine doesn't?

How much do those car's weigh?

FYI, I'm running a D1SC

how do you like the D1SC so far? My father is strongly considering, are you A4 or 6 speed? The D1SC is my favorite so far out of the boosted LS1's i've driven, aside from a custom turbo'd ls6 we threw in my buddies 69 camaro

I really like it! It and the blow off valve are a little noisy outside the car, but I'm very happy with it.

WHATEVER you do, do NOT purchase the ATI KIT for the C5/Z06! Get a custom kit that some of the major C5/Z06 vendors sell. The stock ATI kit has awful belt slippage and overheating issues.

My car runs great, but only AFTER I swapped out that stuff.

If noise is a concern, I hear the Vortech blowers are quieter.

You're more than welcome to ask these questions on my forum! There are quite a few blown Corvette's on there.

BTW, twin turbo LS6 69 CAMARO?? SSSCCHHWWEEEEETTT!

no ****, we were thinking about the ATI cause we have a connection over there. Now we have to rethink it

and the 69 is a real real beast, it's our new $$ maker at the street races Let's just say that the motor was fully worked over also, so you can just guess the power it makes

A GT2 with a few simple mods could produce 520-550 hp at the crank.

It would be hard to read your front plate frame from the rear view.

The guy asked a question, he never said his car was faster, he was just wondering how fast a GT2 would be up against his car. I don't see what's so wrong with that, he didn't come here to put us down or try to prove anything. I don't think that warranted a smart *** comment like "Tell me after the race how that GT2 emblem on the trunk looks.".

What are you talking about? I only came on board to inquire about my competition.

Everyone on here has been exceptionally cool.

You're first ignorant comment was "Tell me after the race how that GT2 emblem on the trunk looks."

My car is not and will never be the fastest car around, but I bet the only thing you'll see from a dead stop or a roll from my car is the rear Corvette emblem.

I never talk sh-t. Let's just do it.

My apologies to everyone else on this board..

You are funny, No thank you, I rather drive road courses and actually learn to drive the car rather than racing in straight lines, I will leave that for you and the muscle cars, are your fuzzy dice red or white?

Just as I thought. All talk. YOUR car CANNOT back up anything in a straight line. What a shame, I figured YOUR car would have the best of both worlds considering it's price.

I tell you what. I have NEVER RACED on a road course IN MY LIFE. Like I stated above, there are none close to me.

Let's see how I do. I'm sure I can find a set of road race tires to borrow. What road racing track would you like to meet at?

Let's set this up. Oh, and bring a video camera. Because I'll have one but it wont do me any good while you're BEHIND ME.
