King is infamous around these parts
997tt compared to a 996tt (with reflashed ecu)

Does anyone know what the performance difference is in the 1/4 mile or 0-60 times with the same driver.

I just had mine reflashed by Kevin at UMW and it is a big improvement.
I have never driven a 997tt but have heard rave reviews about their performance.

Thanks

There have been magazine reviews of the 997 turbo putting it at 11.2 @ 122 in the 1/4 mile but no one in real life has come anywhere close to that. It's more like a 11.9 at 118 car while the 996 turbo is more like 12.3 at 114 ( I'm talking about avgs here something any old joe can go to the track and run) with a flash you could run about even with a 997 turbo and with flash and exhaust you could beat one.

There was a video of a chipped 996 vs a stock 997 and it wasn't even close. The new 997 is no joke!

there was also a video of a chipped and exhaust 996 vs a 997 and it wasnt close either, the fact of the matter is that the cars are similar enough where the one with the most hp will win. A chip in a 996 will get you just about 500hp which is enough to beat the 485hp 997

Here's a vid of a ECU only 996TT with 2 people, versus a stock 997TT with one person. If the 996 had only one person...they would've probably been about equal.
