I am having a Kenwood dual DIN unit installed next week with Bluetooth, Sirius and an IPOD jack. I'll post some pics afterwards. Make sure your shop knows how to deal with the Bose setup before changing the head unit.

I'm looking for the same- I want a stock Navi on my TT (I'm shopping) and have been considering cars without... If I have to go aftermarket, I want a fixed panel like a stock unit.

Of course there may be better electronics/maps available besides OE, and that would be fine if the install looked stock.

Can a stock NAVI system be retrofited? Cost?

I think www.aidesign.com has done a few of these fixed screen jobs. Go to the "Projects" section and click on the black 996 then check out photos 3 and 4. I've seen the car first hand - looks great.

My stock Navi unit from my 01 is coming out when I put in the Kenwood. The stock unit is ok, but it is behind the times in terms of capabilites (bluetooth, Ipod integration, NAV system). I'll be selling it if you want it...

arnt there different versions of the stock nav unit? I've looked at some 01s and the system has a tape deck and the screen seems a bit smaller than the one on my 03. Anyone know what the differences are?

Kenwood DDX 7019, Sirius, IPOD and bluetooth phone including phonebook push, Porsche pocket to hold the IPOD. Worked out well because my car was a NAV car to begin with, so no need to move the HVAC. Stock speakers, non-Bose car with DSP. Very happy with the setup.
