Buddy, best of luck through recovery. I went through rehabilitation 2x's before I hit 18 (had a big cocaine problem). Best thing I could of ever done to myself. I also helped my father go through alcoholism recovery and he's about to hit 2 years clean.

Best of luck man, this is a big step to getting your priorities straight, congrats!

As everyone has said Budman... Good Luck... You have obviously taken the first steps and are on the road to recovery...

Your post reminds us all where priorities should be.... Not many would start this thread like you did... I'm sure your family is proud and they should be...

We are all in your corner.. I hope our paths cross again....

Buddy:

Your quality of your life is almost exclusively controlled by the character in which you live it. What you are doing demonstrates extremely high character:

1. recognizing a problem
2. taking responsibility for the problem
3. fixing the problem

Nail it Buddy. Next time we get together, no beer, but I'll love to see you again when you are “fixedâ€.

If there is anything I can do to help you, please call on me. I think you know I mean this!

Tim

Buddy....two of my favourite quotes are the following:

"The greatest joy in life is not from not falling but rising after you fall"...Mandela

"The measure of a man's character is not where he stands in comfort and convenience but where he stands in challenge and controversy"….MLK

From my perspective and has been echoed by all on this post.....you personify character and courage. We wish you God's speed on a complete recovery and our thoughts and prayers will remain w/ you and your family.

Buddy: My best wishes to you during your journey. I've always thought you were a good guy, now I'll call you a great guy. Anybody can have a problem, but it takes a person of the highest courage and character not only to solve it, but to acknowledge it and admit it. You're an extremly lucky fellow to have a wife who will stand by you!

Buddy,
Congrats on the decison to change your life. Hang on to the seat of your pants because you are in for the ride of your life. Like a Porsche, recovery offers excitment, adrenaline and a new awareness. But also like a Porsche, recovery requires focus. If you are driving a Porsche 150 mph and you take your eye off the CENTER line, bad things can happen. Same with recovery. The fun is in the journey to the destination not the destination. A great book I recently re read was " A New Pair of Glasses" by Chuck C.. I'm with you Buddy hang in there.
