The Budman speaks
Buddy,
Glad to see you got your priorities straight. Hope everything will be smooth sailing from here on out. And it takes a man filled with ambition and courage to check himself in to an alcoholic program, I'm sure everyone here will agree.
BTW, I saw your pic in the European Car mag. Are you a Steelers fan????
Best of luck with everything Buddy.

Buddy:
I hope your recovery is as fast as the beast. I don't know you, but it's nice to see you're putting your family responsibilities and relationships in the proper perspective. Because your friends and family will never be able to replace the relationship they have with you.
My best friend lost sight of this for an instant with dire consequences. I just lost Ralph in a car accident resulting from his poor judgement and excessive speed(off the track). He lost his life, but unfortunately his actions also killed his brother-in-law. All told, four children between 1 and 17 yrs old lost their fathers. Honestly, Ralph was lucky he didnt survive the accident that killed his sister's husband in the passenger seat on impact, because he would've been charged with manslaughter & had to live with that for the rest of his life. It could have just as easily been his wife or kid sitting there. My friend didnt have a chronic drinking problem, but rather a judgement problem about drinking & driving on occasion. It's a daily reminder that my actions have far reaching complications when things go wrong. And for all the love and positive examples Ralph set with his young boys in rearing them, no one can change the tragic events of his last act on this earth. And as a father of two little boys I regret that his boys are left with this black cloud hanging over all of the great things he accomplished in his life and also helped them to accomplish in their own lives.
Your recovery program seems intense without any shortcuts, and as you can see a lot of people are pulling for you. All the best. I'm looking forward to reading about your future success.

Buddy,
I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you, but for Me,
YOU are the reason I came to know about 6speedonline.com.
It was your journey, where I believe you were pulled over in OK and then spent some *time* in TX that I came to know about the Budman & 6speedonline.com.
It's funny about this board and others like it, you can easily feel like you know someone, whether they're in the same state you're in, or on the other coast, or even in another country.
As far as what you've shared here on this thread:
You could've easily just said.... I've had to be away for awhile, instead explaining where you've been.
IMHO, that's a pretty BRAVE & STAND-UP thing to do.
Take your time, get Yourself & your Family in order, and keep us posted on how you're doing!
Here's to ya man!

Wow,
This list is truly awesome! I sincerely thank you for all your support and prayers. I have just about completed 2 months of my recovery and have not had a drink since Feb 9th. This program is about so much more than just drinking and I am working on becoming humble and putting others first in my life.
I have truly enjoyed getting to know you, all those I have met and those I only know via email. I am proud to call you all my friends. God bless you and your families and please put them first in your life.
Take care and talk to you soon!
