Not Able to Fuel the Car !!!!!!!! SAND!!!!!

I went to 5 different gas stations and every time I tried to put fuel in the car, the fuel would splash back like if it was full, when I knew it was empty all the way !!!!!. The car was towed to the dealer and they found that some filters inside the gas tank were clogged with SAND !!!!! They called Porsche America and they said that eventhough my car is still under warranty, I had to pay for half the cost of the repair- $ 325.00 dollars(My Part).
How in the world YOU GET SAND INSIDE THE GAS TANK???
Thanks

Someone doesnt like you, putting sand in a gas tank is a good way to ruin someones motor/fuel lines, etc. Its an old trick that some *******s use to basically ruin your car. The answer is sand doesnt get in there unless someone puts it in there.

I would invest in a locking gas cap after getting this one fixed. A-Holes!

that sucks, but i'd hold off on the locking gas cap, unless your dealer offers one. Of all the cars that i've had come in w/ evap codes 99% have been due to ****ty locking gas caps. GL with sorting this out though

How would they get the gas cover open if the car was locked?

Is it easy to pop?

I had this problem as well, but it was the E6 fuse (many thanks to the forums) if I recall. I could be wrong, but methinks someone is trying to pull one over on you.

I don't know about this one... It is not possible to open the gas flap when the car is locked...unless your flap is not working correctly. I had a Targa that had a malfunctioning flap lock...so it is possible.

I agree. The gas lid locking mechanism has failed on my car before (fixed under warranty). Make sure this is not your problem. Aside from all of this... I find it strange the tank won't allow additional fuel to be added when there is some sand in the system. Good prevention for additional failure though! Hope you figure out how the sand got in there to begin with.

Wross is correct, your dealer is full of ****.
Several of us have had this problem and it was a fuse.
I took a aluminum pole (driveway marker from hardware store) and pushed
it down the fuel neck far enough to open that secondary valve flap do-hinky.
Sand my ***...

I agree, I think the dealer is trying to screw you. 325 for a fuse sounds about right in the porsche dealer world.
