Check Engine Light...

So, I installed the Fabspeed SS with 100 cell cats and three days later I got a CEL. I'm not sure if they are related but it is definately running great without any limp mode and boosting to .7 bar.

Anyone else had this issue before?

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. Fabspeed says it doesn't throw codes with a stock chip. I am looking for other 6speeders who may have had this issue in case you are right.

Thanks...

I was hoping to find out if others have had this issue with a Fabspeed exhaust as I don't feel like getting charged by the dealer if this is a know issue with this exhaust.

Get your own code reader (Durametric) or I think Auto Zone does it for free.

I drove my car with a Europipe Stage 2 Loud (100 cell cats) for a year with everything else stock (including ECU). Never had a CEL.

That would suck as Fabspeed specifically states no CEL. I took it to the dealer because it started to leak oil from the transmission too. Hopefully it is not the cats or it's going to be an expensive visit. ;-)

It's the cats. You need software.

I installed a brand new Fabspeed and my buddy got a CEL but found out it was for rich fuel on his O2 sensor...reset it and nothing...installed the Fabspeed diverter vlaves and now every once in awhile it feels like it sputters with power above 5K RPM....dunno what that is about...gonna tear into it tomorrow.

I spoke with Fabspeed and they say it could be the cats. They said I did not need a chip to avoid a CEL.

I spoke with Jay and he was extremely helpful (especially considering I didn't buy it from them and it was used) so I am going to see what they recommend. I have to say I am very impressed them so far!
