Rob, please tell us more about your Proto build, you forgot to mention that you saved a lot of money on wasted calls to EVO as well.

Rob congrats on your build, videos NOW...

BTW Adam has some valid points, we in the US might drive our cars very hard, but its on and off boost in short bursts.. Dont forget, they have the roads for HIGH SPEED CONSTANT ACCELERATION, 200 + mph for however long they want, we have no place to do that here and what he was getting at..

You're kidding right? The best gas widely available here is BP102. It's 102 octane RON which is equivalent to maybe 97 octane US. Rating is rating. There's no way you can logically conclude that European gas is anywhere near the quality of premium unleaded US gas if you're using the determining factor for deciding quality the ability to reduce knock. What are you proposing; that the Euro gas is better because it's more "carbon neutral" or using flower-ethanol or some other idiocy? Especially at 2.50# per liter. Jeez.

Ill just clarify my view, and then thats that from me,

U.S pump fuel is generally crap- Euro pump fuel is good.

Rob,

Its great that you are excited about the "sound" of your new engine. I hope it performs as well as it “sounds.†That being said, you could have, and should have, conveyed that same sentiment without unnecessarily denigrating EVOMS, who has NOTHING to do with your engine build (rumor has it that they, and others, wanted nothing to do with your car based upon your past dealings with certain tuners). When sharing future updates about your project, resist including disparaging comments about tuners that refused to do business with you. Such hostility is counter-productive to this forum and detracts from your message.

Thanks for your comment but I must say that my car feels much faster than what I purchased from an EVOMS tuner. That is just a fact. Hmmm Should I feel tainted? Really, I dont feel that way at all.. I feel free! It is a great feeling to ask someone to build my car and they actually do it! Hostility? No, it is just a fact.
Sincerely
Robert

Robert,

I am genuinely pleased to hear that your car feels faster with your new set-up, and that you are happy with the outcome. I presume you will obtain some objective data to confirm your butt dyno. I look forward to your future posts in this regard.

Other than the 3.8 liter kit, what else have you done? What turbos? What fuel system components? Head work? Who built your engine? Who tuned it? What boost level are you running? Have you dynoed it yet? If not, how was it tuned?

Regards,

Craig

I'm interested in hearing about the problems individuals are having with the tuners they have dealt with. Getting the straight, complete news on a tuner; good and especially bad, will make me a much more informed consumer in the future. The pervasive attitude on this board that it is taboo to speak negatively about tuners is BS in my opinion. If there are legitamite issues with product being sold, for big $$$, as complete, tested and proven when, in fact, this is not the case, I believe we all have the right and obligation to come forward with the 'actual' truth. This is just my opinion.

I completely agree!!! However, such discussions are only helpful when rooted in FACTS, as opposed to arbitrary rhetoric, unsupported opinions and useless name calling. Moreover, in order for such discussions to serve a meaningful purpose, they should be in a thread dedicated to a particular tuner or experience, as opposed to interspersed in unrelated threads. I am wholly in favor of an open exchange of FACTS, even if they are unflattering to one or more tuners. As you correctly observe, an open exchange is necessary for consumers to be informed and make wise decisions.
