it's rubbing on the outside (not the inside) and yes rolling the fenders will fix it!

315width tires + TechArt 19" = rolling fenders!!

Club411,

Here's an idea-
  • remove all four wheels and inspect for rubbing
  • if nothing is noticable, coat the inside and outside of each tire with a heavy coat of some type of tire shine product
  • re-install wheels and drive to re-create rubbing condition
  • remove wheels and inspect for noticeable rubbing, the tires shine product will have rubbed off at the affected areas.
Just a thought!

BTW-Don't roll the fenders until your sure that is your issue! If the rears are rubbing on the wheel well, you will not be able to miss the rubbing on the tires!

Doubtful is rubbing on the inside with that offset. Rubbing on the inside is easier to fix. Just get some spacers. Pull your wheels and look at the fender liners or wheel well lips. You'll see the rub marks. Rolling the lips is about $300. The only issue is will the paint crack. Sometime it cracks on the inside of the lip which is easy to brush touch because you won't see it. But sometimes it cracks on the outside of the lip meaning u have to respray the whole fender. No body shop will guarantee it will not crack. The 996 wheel wells are much thicker than the 993 and earlier cars. The 997 has the lips rolled at the factory.

It will only crack if the person doing it doesn't know what he's doing... I won't let a subprime shop do it.. Trust me.. I learned this the hard way... If you are in LA, don't let Speed Gallery do it... They use a hammer on mine... WTF ?!?!?

I have like 3" or so (I'm still stock ride height) and I hit my outside of the wheel on my fenders. I really need to get mine rolled. I already have the GT2 alignment and it helped, but still hits on any medium sized bumps even at like 15mph.
