MAHA Dyno

The MAHA dyno calculates FWHP using a calculation done during coast-down. Is the coast-down done in-gear?

Yes...The coast down is done in the same gear as the pull was done in. Really accurate dyno. Use caution as to how long the pull is set for. Some have defaults that load the car beyond what it should (IMHO). Look for the pull length to be approx 15 seconds. Some have been know to do a 25+ second pull.

Thanks for the info.

So the car is not put in neutral, or the clutch is not depressed during the coast down? Some dynos advertise they calculate FWHP by employing a coast down program, but they do this in neutral, which eliminates the transmission loss. So it seems they don't really do what they advertise.
