suspension advice: specs
Can't get the wheels within specs:
LF RF
camber -1.1 (-0.8)
caster 7.6 ( 7.0)
toe 0.04 0.05
total toe 0.09
steer ahead -0.01
LR RR
camber (-1.6) -1.8
toe 0.16 0.20
total toe 0.36
thrust angle -0.02
2002 996 TT X-50 that does see the DE track often. The numbers in parenthesis are out of spec and my mechanic can't seem to get it there. I am lower to GT-2 height spec with 3/4" rake nose down on Bilstein PSS-9 and 18" stock wheels now with new tires so I can't detect tread wear issues yet. Just had everything checked so haven't been back on the track. Should I be concerned?

If you track the car, why not go with a more aggressive setup like -1 or -1.25 camber which is about the most you can get with stock parts. Why do you want stock specs on a car that sees the track often? Are you more concerned with tire wear than the benefits of more negative camber?
That's the point. The goal is a more aggressive setup, but the RF and the LR are limiting the ability to get more aggressive all the way around. Those specs in ( ) are outside of the LOWER limits of the goal of GT-2 starting point. please advise.

alignment specs
Hey James,
I'm glad you like the brake kit. You can't beat it for the price and the next 'stage' is a lot more expensive. I was gonna give you a call, but wanted to give you a chance to install it and try it out.
Anyway, back to alignment specs. You already have more camber front and rear than Porsche recommends for your car. As you head off of those specs tire wear deteriorates. On the GT2 the camber specs are nearly identical to yours. Ruf recommends more, and you may get more negative as you lower the car a bit more. We don't recommend this though, as front and rear bump will get a bit uglier as the car goes lower. Whether or not you should run more negative camber is largely dependant on tires and the number of street versus track miles. What tires are you running and what is the mileage breakdown?

Thanks, Sol. The mileage is 12,000, 2 years old and about 15 track events which only the last three have I used Mich pilot cup. The rest of the miles and track events were on OEM Pirelli P Zero. Just one set of tires for all of that. Pretty good, eh? Anyway, I now have the conti sport con II on with less than 40 miles. I plan on tracking next weekend and then again May 1. I will call about pressure and temp and wear data. I am going to try and get slicks for the next two events. Thanks again.
