Will have EVO DV's available here shortly.

Getting a set of Forge DV's with my UMW software, so the EVO ones i have that have been on for the last month will be available soon if anyone needs a set.
Car is stock and they have been fine, but will swap to the Forge's on Wed or Thursday. PM me or shoot me an email if you want em before i post them in the classifieds.

Excuse my ignorance, but why would one set be different/better than the other? Seems like as long as you upgrade over the crappy stock DV's there shouldn't be a difference?

Maybe Kevin will chime in, but I agree with you overall. The stock ones suck...just like the Bosch valves in Audi's and anything is way better. The thing with the Forge valves is that there are a variety of spring rates available for the plunger inside there and apparently UMW tweaks code based on particular capabilities of the valve being used.
I have the EVOs cause they were available and i had one of my stock ones go bad. But they are cheap enough and easy enough to swap that if there is any advantage at all to using a set that i have code tweaks for, then why not...and somebody else can save a few bucks on a good set of EVOs...

Funny, I have the forge ones sitting in a box. I have the Evos installed and no problems...I know Kevin likes the Forge better, but my mechanic said it was definately not worth the money to change them out...I do not think they have a performance advantage and I do not think Kevin changes tuning based on which DV you use...

Thanks Bill...looks like I will be in the same boat here shortly, cause my Forge ones are on the way :-)
it may not be a code tweak, but he acted like you and i should be running a particular spring gauge up here at altitude. But Kevin is pretty convicted and I dont want to argue really, so i figured eh, what the heck.

Mine is running so good right now I don't want to f*ck with it. Orrin said let it be unless the EVO DVs fail...then change them (obviously).

Just a quick note on the Forge DV's. I have a 2001 996TT. The original Bosch DV's went bad in the first year I owned it. At the time there weren't many choices...and I found Forge through the Audi dudes, in fact the DV's are identical Bosch. Anyway, just had them out and relubbed, and they have given good service in all this time.
I can't comment as to any advantages however mine did come with two sets of springs, I believe I chose the 1 bar spring???? I don't see how they'd be much different than others, except for that return spring, which should be adjustable on the other cars as well.

Just ordered the flash and Forge directly from Kevin. He mentioned that if later on I want to upgrade my turbos and run higher boost, I can and will need to adjust the springs on my Forge DVs.
