Will anyone ever post a 9 second 1/4?

Once you find the "Combo" the rest is easy, but at the end of the day the 911 air cooled hold the records
"Will" "Wish" "Could" don't count
Heck the Evos are in the 8s and you guys still chasing the 9s
sure someone SOON will go into the 9s but 9.16 or better, that I want to see

Based on some comments on this thread, I suspect somebody in the
Northeast is up to "something today". Well guys, lets have it...
It is cool today, perfect for some killer runs, now who gutted what car
and where is it going down for God's sake?????????
We are anxiously awaiting...:
P.S. Markski and Scott will do it, Just not today.

I recall reading a MAG about that run by Bello... I can assure you that this year I will get alot closer to his 9.16 time ... with my 3200+ lbs car. I'm still street drivable... with A/C, ABS, and power streering.... 700 lbs difference between my 10.03 and his 9.16 would just about put it in the ball park. But for now Im still dreaming till that one day .... and that one day is coming soon.

Fond memories of seeing that thing stand wheelies in 3 gears at Atco (or was it E-Town). No doubt that was one of the sickest cars I've ever seen. Amazing how hard he ran that thing.
Good luck this weekend Markski, you're in for sure!
What's the scoop on the top-secret runs today?

I just spoke to someone who's friend was there racing his own C2 turbo when bello ran the 9.16..... I was told that that car at one time did have a V8 and even a AUTO GM tranny.... and apparently that is how that low 9 sec. pass was made. things that make u go HHmmmm. This is coming from a good source. The funny thing is, and I didnt want to mention anything earlier, that I recall reading an article where they stated that he was running a auto trans... so maybe there is some truth to it.

The ONLY two secrets to those times were Weight and Boost, lots of it, that car was Gutted, back on those days we didn't have any weight restrictions, right now you need to be at 3500pnds "IF" you were to run in a Sport Rear Wheel Drive Class @ NHRA Sport Compact.
a 911 with 3500pnds on the 9s I think so, a 3500pnds 911 with better than a 9.17 Don't think so, if that ever happen I be your # 1 fan
Until then Aircool Rules

I've seen a VW beetle run a low 9, same deal, 430 inch smallblock chevy and the auto trans. I wonder if you could get the same combo in a gutted 996 body, it probably is possible to do.

I would say the numbers and it'd make sense but I can't say.
he said he was running a V8 with auto tranny when he ran those times...
Ok so was it even a Porsche engine and tranny?
how about an engine shot Maciek... Im sure u can come up with something being that close to him... that would answer all our questions.... If its a secret 7 years later then maybe he has something to hide???
not picking on u nor him dont get me wrong.... just hate hearing things from 3rd party people.... liek u or my contact... both of which I respect.. but Im hearing two different stories... and it really is hard to discredit either party.
