Brake Failure!!!! On Track.

I would attribute a sudden failure like this to a faulty master cylinder or a massive brake fluid leak....

Slotted Rotors (doesnt help with heat but does with cracking)
SRF fluid
Cup Car Ducts and 3in ducts in fascia if possible
GT2 rear ducts
Steel Braided Lines
OR
The 6 pot kit.
How much pad thickness did you have when this incident occured? I have found that if you have less than 4mm left, (1/4 inch), there is some significant heat transfer to the brake fluid. I could be much cheaper to change pads before they reach 4mm. This is now what I do with the GT3 Cup.
Another option is to run Pagid orange in the front. The make a lot of noise in the street but transfer less heat.

What's the price on those?
I'm hoping that with the SRF Fluid and the much better ducting I did, I won't have as many issues. However, If I keep tracking this car past this season, I'll either get the P-car Yellow 6 pots, or the brembos.

brembo does not make the 8 pot any more. now they make the six pot wich are lighter thank the 8 pot and are better than the 8 pot. call sanders at the wheel supply and talk to him. his number is 19094681311 and tell him you saw them on johns car from new york.

on my last track day 2 weeks ago, I also experienced more than expected brake fade during the third session with the stock brakes after the 5th lap. Previous 2 sessions 15 laps each (2 miles each lap with 12 turns) with noticeable brake fade but easily manageable. I have subsequently ordered new brakes. Can't wait to install them. Don't worry, the Pirellis are temporary, pilot cup tires are coming.

Guys brakes dont just fail.
There is probably something else that contributed to the failure or loss of braking.
I have tracked many a highly modified 996TT with stock brakes and never had an issue. This with stock rotors- upgraded pads - steel braided lines and
a good brake fluid like Castrol SRF.
