and... my 2 cents regarding the lowering springs - save your money and at least do adjustable coilovers. msindi is right, the expense of changing the parts and a new alignment is the factor and it is better to pay for that only once. The spings are what, about $300 a set? And you can get coilovers for around $1,100 a set? Dude, work a few Saturdays or sell something to make it happen!
I do have enough money personally to do it, however there are other things I have to spend it on right now . I am going to wait, and do coilovers. How are the Techarts?? I am a dealer for Techart so I can get a reasonable amount off, are they any good?? Which others would you reccomend??
Thanks,
Evan

Evan,
I third the opinions of Doug and Mansoor. Do the coilovers, or in a worst case scenario, wait a while until it can be done right, via coilovers.

Doug,
Thanks for the DOT info. Are there any other tires available in that size irrespective of DOT or TUV approval?

Ken,
I take it you like your PSS-9's?? Would you reccomend them also or is there a better setup?? How much did you installation run you and how many hours of labor (if you don't mind me asking).
Thanks,
Evan

KVP;

I think the only 315/25-19's at this time are the AVS and Conti 2's.
I think I heard a rumor that Michelin has something on the way???

Evan;
I don't know how the Techart springs compare with any others. I just swapped them right away because they did not put the car at "exactly" the hieght I wanted, and so I went to Gemballa adjustable coilovers.

As a Techart Dealer, maybe you could email me a quote for the type III wing for my C4S?

Evan - I did a grief write-up on the PSS-9 in another thread yesterday - check it out!!
The kit costs just over$2K shipped from Gert at www.carnewal.com
Also, install is usually 10-11 hours (multiply by hourly rate to get install estimate) and do not forget that you need to re-align the car after (another $200!!)

WHAT!!!! 10-11 hours of install!!!! I was quoted 5 hours labor by my shop!!!! Wow thats sux, but hey I guess it has to be done. Could a dealer re-align the car, the shop I would have it done at, doesn't do it (I don't think). Many everything just has to be difficult!!. I am guessing you ment a BRIEF right up, I am guessing you are happy wiht it not pissed .
Thanks,
Evan

Sorry - meant brief - you should read it!!
5 hours is even better - its just that usually (to do it properly) wheels and brakes need to come off.
YES - the dealer can re-align your car!! (or any alignment shop)

Evan,

Great sounding mods - the only one missing it seems is a short shift. Does the car already have one?

As far as the tires are concerned, I ordered the Conti's with my 542r's. The 285's in my opinion looked a bit stretched out on the rear wheel. They should get here tomorrow (!!!) so I'll post pics as soon as it's possible.

Evan,
Figure on 11 hours for the installation and the alignment together. The installation and setup of coilovers is more time consuming than simple springs since the ride height has to be tweaked as well as the corner balancing if you decide to have that done (recommended). If your shop told you 5 hours for the install, it is probably right considering, as you say, they don't do the alignment. I would tend to think you want the alignment shop to deal with the ride height as long as the installation shop gets it close. Why waste time and money in the installation shop if the alignment shop has to tweak it anyway.
Any variant of the PSS-9 (Bilstein, Ruf, FVD) will perform much better than just springs alone.
