I need to upgrade my system, which i keep putting off, and havent purchased audio equipment in years. Any recommendations on reputable places online with good prices? I dont like to deal with the ridiculous markup on prices from audio stores.
THanks,
BK

What are you looking for? I used to have a business but still have my contacts.

As for used high end, I have had VERY good success with Audiogon.com.

To be honest Im not even sure what im going to order yet. I need to do the whole system. Probably one 10 in a light weight box that is easily removed and some good highs and mids with proper power. Thinking about doin pioneer nav...mb quart mids and highs...not sure about the sub.

I went with factory (low quality) BOSE stuff and an AVIC-D3, xmnav, bluetooth, ipod/video (built into the AVIC), usb. The only issue: the thing needs the DVD to be in...a HD version of the AVIC-D3 for the same price would be perfect. Whole system, installed 1500. I love the sound...not an audiophile. It is nice.

Good luck.

I used a local high end shop (with many a car in the tuner rags....so a known "good installer"....with porsche experience. I would ask around the car clubs....

Have you guys been using 6.5 or 5.25 components? I was thinking of jl, kicker, or mb quartz for the components. Still undecided on amps and sub. I used to use kicker and rockford back in the day, but not sure what works best in the 996.
