oil failure warning

The other day, I kept getting an oil failure warning on my dash whenever I'd make a fast turn. I had also noticed on the turns, the oil pressure needle would hit bottom. When I got home, I checked the oil level and it was reading 2-3 bars. I ended up adding a full quart of oil and havn't had the warning since. But now my oil level is at maximum bars. Did I add too much? Should I be worried? Havn't noticed any smoke or smells.

why did u add oil b4 even checking how much u actually have? u can do it on the dash u know.
i may be just the sending unit and may have nothing to do with low oil.

This makes me wonder if any of the inventive folks here have made their own dipstick and calibrated it against a fresh fill? A stick with scratches on it is not as sexy as electronics, but much more reliable once calibrated.

there is one more step in the oil level display above full,
so if you only see full, you're OK. If the oil pressure *and*
oil level indicators were indicating a problem, then there
was likely a problem. I particularly didn't like hearing about
the pressure going down. However, I have had my level
down to two or three notches from the bottom, and have
added a whole quart at one time, and never saw any indication
of a problem. I believe the car will allow at least a quart and
a half range of acceptable oil volume.

I'm getting all bars filled, meaning the bar above the top arrow is also lit.

I've got one of those automotive fluid extractors, so I figured I should give it a try. Would I suck the oil out straight from the oil filler spout?
