Tire Help

I got a huge gash on one of my rear tires for the '01 TT and now am thinking of replacing all four.

I currently have Pirelli P Zeros but am not too happy with the road noise.

Would like to get collective experience and choose a good tire with a better road noise rating. I do not track the car....the tires are purely for road driving.

Any recommendations would be extremely helpful....

BTW the current tires/rims are Original stock sizes:
295 30 ZR 18 - Rear
225 40 ZR 18 - Front

Tire Help

From what I heard, the Yoko Neovas seem to have a very hard ride...Is that true?

Also, any comments about the following tires:

1. Bridgestone S-02A
2. Continental ContiSportContact2
3. Michelin PilotSportRib

and how they compare to the Yoko Neovas?

Michelin PS2 N rated tires. I just put a set on and they're amazing! 235's for front, 295's for rear.....quiet and responsive....had Conti's before and they were no good....

Any problems putting the 235s on the Front? I am just worried since I have 225s on as the Front Tire.

235's up front and 295's for the rear is going to mess up your Differential because the OD difference between the two tires is "out of spec".

The proper sizes for Michelin PS2 N-Rated are:
235/40-18 Front
315/30-18 Back

These fit on the Stock Turbo Twist wheels and they have been great on my car. I recently did 110 laps of a 2-mile course and the tires held up great and handled VERY well.

- S-02A's are also very good, but they won't last as long as the PS2's.

- Pilot Sport Rib is old school and had been replaced by the PS2 as Michelin's best street tire.

- Continental is a brand I try to stay away from, but it seems every car I buy comes with them from the factory! LOL

Just spoke to Tire Rack and they recommended the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position tires for my requirements.

Anybody have any experience with these tires and how they compare with the PS2s or others?

I never tried the RE050A. Is it N-Spec rated? Michelin PS2's are.

I have run Bridgestone S02s, MPS2s, MPSC and now Yoko Advan Sports. My favorite for street driving is the YOKO....I only wish they had the Neova in 19"...Yoko is the best so far IMHO.

No KJ, they are not N rated but Tire Rack said that they are good tires but just have not been submitted to Porsche for certification and testing.

The PS2s were the other option just a lot more expensive and Tire Rack said that the performance/handling/noise spec on the Bridgestone is very similar.

I'm running them now and they are pretty damn nice. They take a couple miles to heat up though. They are worlds better than the Pirelli's that were on my car before these.

There is no denying the MPS2's are phenominal.........its just a matter of spending the $$$$ over the RE050A's.

Comparison's to the stock Pirelli's are meaningless because they suck really REALLY bad! LOL
