The front diffuser and the mirrors are carbon "optik" or wrapped in carbon. However, the rear wing blade is actually made of CF (NOT plastic), and is quite a bit lighter than the normal version.

Yes, it is. Most Turbo owners don't realize that there is more to recreating a GT2 than just yanking out the front diff.

The GT2's suspension actually comes from the GT3 Mk. 1. In 04 and 05 it uses the shocks from the Mk. 2. This and the weight reduction is why it handles much more nicely than the Turbo.

Acording to Akram Motorsports there are many, many significant differences between the TT and the GT2.

Scott I did not say it can never feel or be just as direct as a GT2, but with what wa mentioned, its nowhere near it. Pulling diff, adding suspension components is hardly anything, then you need to delete sunroof and sound deadeining, add lsd, tons of other things including motor mounts add to the GT2's rigidness! Your car I don't doubt is far beyond a stock GT2, chill

No penance, Rob.

I am fortunate to be personal friends with some of the mods on this board and they know, as do the many friends I have made from this site that my banning was an injustice. In fact I will probably be banned for speaking my mind in this post. This sad possibility reminds me of why the First Amendment was written into our Constitution: Our founding fathers understood the propensity of tyrants to try and limit what other people say and think, and alas they were correct.

Whether I am banned or not, I will not be posting as much on this site anymore (I cannot exist in an environment where I am not allowed to defend myself from personal attacks) so if you want to hear my wharped humor you will have to meet me and the other Porsche Docs (Pauly, Joe, Nick, et al) when we hang out Sat nights. Oh, and I will be creating a 700 plus whp GT2 in the future as I have dedicated funds for that purpose in the bank right now.

Yes, there is a Planet Zero meet. This is the best meet in Houston, Rob. I will call Joe, Pauly (who is too busy counting his money nowadys ) and Nick

My wife had a baby tuesday, but her whole family is at my house helping (mom is a nurse), so I should be able to slip out for a while. In addition to the birth of my son, and teaching summer school I did 2 big real estate transactions this week, so I need a little fun time.

Lets run our cars on the "Mexico" Tollway. You should walk me, but lets go anyway.

Ari,

I have other cars w/PSM etc....for me, when I drive my GT2, I want a total, pure, driving experience. This may sound odd, but when I drive the GT2 I don't want anything but my self to save *** if I make a mistake. The excitement is knowing that if I push beyond my or the cars limits then dire consequences may result.

It is definately a thrill seeking oriented experience. That is why I would take the TT as the daily driver.

Of course, in a 800 plus whp monster TT like Scott or Marks' car, you can get the near death experience pretty easily as well.

I'm reasonable and can definitely agree to disagree. I'm scratching my head, but respect your opinion.

Why not turn the PSM completely off everytime you get in....? and your dire consequences are all 100% there.

Better yet, what if the car saved your last request permanently until you set it to a different "option". Like the 430... a dial ****.

Because I have never owned a Porsche with traction control or other safety gadgets. I am not saying there is anything wrong with them, they are just not for me.

No...a "totally" different car to a 996 GT2 is a Viper, or a Z06, or an F430. A 996 Turbo and 996 GT2 are essentially the same car....with some minor differences.

I think out of the box, in it's stock configuration, the 996 GT2 is one of the best cars you can buy. But with a few proper modifications, a turbo can can pretty muhc equal it. Of course, a GT2 owner will never admit that

And yes, I have driven a 996 GT2. Great car.

Sean,

Since you've decided to bring this out into the public, I'll take the time to respond; it’s your negative attitude and general lack of maturity that has brought you to this point. Nothing more. You call other members derogatory names, you personally threaten them with physical harm, and then you claim unfairness or that you are getting picked on when you are told you need to follow the same rules that every one else is required to follow.

Let's not use that "first amendment" BS either. This is a privately owned forum and there are rules here for a reason. Either you follow those rules or you don't post. Now, I really hate to have to be the one to tell you this, but the other members of this forum are not required to deal with your crap because of your constitutional right to free speech.

FYI, I've been moderating forums for a very long time. Probably longer than you've been posting on them. I've seen members like you many, many times before. You are using same tactics and saying the same type of things that they all do:

-“It's not my fault!”
-"Some moderator (or moderators) are picking on me!"
-"This forum is suppressing my freedom of speech!"
-"I'm personal friends with other moderators and they'll protect me."

You know what? It's always BS. You, Sean, brought ALL of this onto yourself with your negative attitude and aggressive posts. Period.

Not one other moderator mentioned to me that he thought your banning was an injustice. It was, in fact, a different moderator from myself that warned you the day before you were banned to drop the arguments with Jamie. But, typical Sean, chose to ignore the other moderator’s warning and initiated yet another personal attack on Jamie. So yes, you got a 3-day ban. Now you come on here and whine like a 12-year old that it was an injustice?

So here's the deal; If you want to remain on this forum, all you have do is follow the rules, get rid of the attitude and stop instigating arguments with other members. Pretty simple. If you don't want to follow those rules, you don’t stay. Either by your choice, or by the choice of one of the moderators.

That having been said; if you would like to stay on this forum...you are more than welcome to do so. I personally think you are a likeable guy, overall...that has the ability to add quite a bit to this great forum. All you have to do is stop instigating arguments with other forum members, stop threatening members with your self-proclaimed jiu-jitsu skills…and stop whining when you’re told to stop breaking the rules.

Contrary to what you might think; we moderators have jobs, families and lives to live. We don’t want to deal with PITA members that think they’re more important or entitled than the rest of the members of this forum are.

Think about that the next time you post.
