It will be a while before the 997 aftermarket catches up to the 996.
There are some cars that might do one thing better than the 996 GT2, but really there is no car that does as many things as well. You can have a car w/ 500 plus rwhp on pump for highway racing, a track car, and and reliable dd that is a stunning beauty, all in one car.

The only "excuse" for paying anything near that would be for a collector, not a driver. No question in many years to come a low mileage, rare car like this will be pulling some money but by then the only mods most of us will need is all-terrain tires on our Jazzy.
