Hydralic rear wing leaking
Hydralic rear wing leaking
Have many experienced this problem? My car was serviced at a dealer a few times for this problem and they had replaced the hydralic unit and pillars. This was the only record of other than routine maintenance in my car. It just started to leak and the warning light came on again. My independent service shop is now looking into this for me. Guess the dealer never fixed it right after multiple attempts in the past.
My left pillar was leaking and the light would come on. It still went up but very slowly. The whole system was replaced under warranty! I'm glad I bought that warranty, the fix was not cheap. IMO.
It happened to me on my 2001 and is doing it again on my 2004. They replaced my old one under warranty and it will going in shortly to fix it now. i always fear my wing will break when it only goes down half way. Since I put a gt2 type wing on mine (which sticks up a few inches more than the stock one), I may just have them fix they hydraulics and then pull the fuse (or whatever it takes) to stop it from lifting up to ensure it doesn't break again.
Same here....
Took my 2003 in for its final service while it still had warranty - they did a bunch of things including replacing the entire rear spoiler assembly as it was seeping oil.
Seems to be a pretty common problem.
FYI the replacement unit looked entirely different to the original.

You can pull the power plug from the hydraulic motor and jumper a couple of the wires in the plug. I don't remember which wires to jump though. The jumper keeps the fault light from coming on.
