DV's...........

What should be the normal charge for a Porsche Dealer to install a pair of DV's if I supplied them. I had to have my local dealer install a pair and feel I was over charged, before I say what I was charged I would like to hear from you guys, thoughts

I swapped mine without any prior experience in less than an hour, including some how-do-I-reach-that-clamp study time. I'd say it's worth no more than $75. Add the "because we can" Porsche tax, and I'd guess you paid $275.

I paid 150. The frikin clamps where facing toward the front of the car so I couldn't get to them.

I just paid $240 for installation of the evom's dv's. This was done at any indy shop that sells evoms parts/products. I called a couple of other places and got about the same price quote.

I had my OEM DV's replaced with Bailey DV's and it cost me $0. They were replaced under warranty because the OEM valves were making noise. Porsche paid for the Bailey valves, and they paid for the installation.

I cant see how anyone could charge over 2 hours of labor. The average DIY could have it done in an hour the first time. I just changed mine out for the second time and it took me 30 minutes. Any competent mechanic should be able to do it in 1/2 hour. Anything over $200 and I would say you got bent over.
