PHEW, what a relief!
Anyway, if all checks out fine, I'll be driving it by Tuesday/Wednesday!

Subtle passenger seat vibration at warm idle with mine also - that's the " motion " I referred to in prev post. A very rough idle or hunting could be misfiring from bad injector, bad plug etc. Have dealer hook up their tester to look for fault codes and history of type 2 ? wrong -gear -downshift overrevs to be sure it doesn't have a bent valve ! 2001s had a colder plug that occas fouled - they changed to hotter plug on Turbos in 2002 production.

Just wanted to bump this thread as to not start another one.
I have a vibration that can be felt at idle in my bone stock X50. Its noticeable, but not crazy. I can also see the pass seat vibrate when I look over. The RPM is STEADY at 780rpm, so the engine is not hunting. Could it be a worn mount? If I raise the engine RPM ever so slightly using the throttle, the vibration goes away. At speed its perfect.
Question is, why do some owners have an issue with this, and others dont?

The IMS or intermediate Shaft in these cars cause it to vibrate and some do alot and porsche says its fine. People with lightweight flywheels there cars rattle like a marble ina tin can (mine) its just the nature of the engine design and the IMS this is not a lexus.
now if you had SOLID mounts it would make this much worse, or mounts so worn they are metal to metal which is unlikely.

I had some vibrations that were visible in the passenger seat and it was related to the electric fans that blow air through the left and right side ac/condensers and the radiators. It was a missing balancing weight on the fan blade on one side. I disconnected the connector to the fan and the vibrations disappeared, changed the fan for a new one and haven’t had any vibrations sins
