5 Bar regulator

I just have a question for those of you running it. I was wondering what kind of amp draw you are getting from the pump at idle when useing this regulator. I have all but convinced myself there is a problem when running this high of a regulator on the 996TT so please post up your numbers.

P.S. I am currently seeing a 19.5amp pull to the pump at idle.

It will be interesting to see what responses if any. I've been thinking about utlizing an old trick by running super thick gauge wire directly from the battery to the fuel pump, using the stock power wire as a trigger on a relay. I've seen it work well in the past on other cars, with the result to supply higher more consistent voltage to the pump, without as much draw.

Anyone try this?

This isn't much of a DIY gang, Fishey.

19+ amps at idle sound way too high. My big Aeromotive that was feeding a 1000hp Vortech blown Chevy pulled about 20 amps at max boost pressure.

You've got me curious - I'm running the stock regulator, but I'll check the pump current draw tomorrow.

Midnight you get that stock number? I am guessing around 8-10 amp draw...
