Hello all.

Hello all. New here. Name is Dave. I have an 03tt. Speed yellow.

Im pretty much stock thus far except for Lowering and rims.. Ive had the car for about 3 months now.

Got a few questions I could not find answers to when i searched.

I have a large and annoying surge. (im convinced its not variocam). It just started to do this. Doesnt matter what RPM, If I get into it ,It jumps 2000rpm at ANY rpm. If Im at 3k, it jumps to 5k then back down to 4k or so then the turbos kick in. If im at 5k, i immediatly redline then it drops back down. Happens in EVERY gear at any speed, and any rpm range. Its pretty violent and teh PSM has kicked on a few times.

Any ideas? My MAF is clean as is the airbox and you could eat off the filter. I noticed it after the last day at the track a few days later.

Anyhow, are a few pics. Thanks! Dave

Right after I put UMW software in...clutch went. Fast. Torque.....is huge in at least in the UMW K16 package, perhaps yours toasted your clutch too.

Or they left something out of the tranny fix.....on this, I don't know enough to help you....there are many a guru here that can help.

If it is the clutch.....

See my signature for what I did to fix things. Any good clutch will cost you in labor...perhaps the shop that did the tranny will at least cover labor for most of a clutch........the LWFW, for me, was a great move.

In my case, I called Kevin and he explained things to me...got the kit to me the next day no problem.

Good luck.

I would still put in a stronger clutch (not OEM) if you have to do the clutch. The LWFW is a huge plus too. See my rennlist thread on it with sound bytes/video....

Better UMW clutch feels just like a factory one, perhaps even better. He does't use the ones that bite/on-off only....it is smooth and nice.

Best of luck.
